Christmas Delivery!

Monday, 23 December 2013 - 16:31

This year we had some extra special help making deliveries as Father Christmas himself went out and met some of our customers, bringing presents and spreading Christmas cheer!

Our newest driver, Ben Eastop, donned the red and white suit for us for the whole day and really got into the festive spirit.  He went out with our Transport Manager, Matt Hunt, and a collection bucket for the Crisis at Christmas Appeal.  Our customers made them both really welcome and were hugely generous with their donations.

This being Ben's first Christmas with us, it was relatively easy to convince him that one of the drivers has done this every year, and he was a great sport when we told him at the end of the day that everyone had been in on the joke!

We're really proud of Ben's efforts to raise some money for this thoroughly worthwhile cause - Crisis is a charity dedicated to ending homelessness by delivering life-changing services and campaigning for change.  The Crisis at Christmas Appeal aims to reserve a place at one of their shelters for as many people as possible.

One place at Crisis at Christmas costs just £21.84 and provides...

·         welcoming support from people who really care

·         three nutritious, hot meals including Christmas dinner

·         the chance to shower and change clothes, have a haircut and get a health check

·         expert advice on life-changing issues like housing and employment

·         an introduction to Crisis year-round services for training and support for the future

More information is available here - http://community.crisis.org.uk/reserve.

We managed to raise a really impressive £165!  We're enormously grateful to everyone for their donations and are delighted that we managed to donate enough money for 7 (nearly 8) people to be safe and warm this Christmas.

Thank you so much everyone, and from everyone at L. Hunt & Sons Ltd we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and happy New Year!
